Students’ OrganizationsThe department coordinates and manage the affairs of the students’ organization (Students’ Government), associations, chapters and clubs. The Institute has a Students’ Organization of National Institute of Transport (SONIT) which is responsible for Students’ academic, social and recreational activities at the Institute. SONIT is the only official recognized organization representing all students of the National Institute of Transport therefore, all leaders under this organ are obliged to serve the students’ community diligently with full integrity and by observing the laws of the land as leaders, as it is for any citizen, apart from their Constitution, Students’ By – Laws and other regulations of the Institute.
Currently, the students’ social and academic associations, chapters and clubs at the Institute are Procurement and Supply Students’ Association (PSSA), Logistics and Transport Students’ Association (LTSA), National Institute of Transport Marketing and Public Relations Association (NPRA) and Institution of Engineers Tanzania (IET – NIT Students’ Chapter). Registration of any new association, chapter or club shall get approval of Rector through Dean of Students office.
