At the National Institute of Transport, students are either accommodated in the Institute’s halls of residence or find their own accommodation outside the campus. It is the practice of the Students’ Service Directorate to communicate with students regarding hostel applications. Students who are accommodated in the Institute's halls of residence are obliged to pay accommodation fees at an authorized rate. All payments for on campus accommodation shall be made in advance. Priority in room allocation is given to disabled students, international students, first year students from up country, sick students with long/known history and few students’ leaders.
As on campus accommodation places are limited, students who fail to secure it are advised to arrange on their own with private hostels nearby. The list of private hostels and the contacts is normally attached to the admission letters. Students are kindly asked to read the list of private owned hostels regarding location, charges and communication. However, students are advised to visit the hostels before confirmation of any booking. For any problem regarding accommodation, the Dean of Students Office will be there to solve it. It is the Institute’s policy that students share a room and there is no provision for married students and nursing mothers.
