The Department of Computing and Communication Technology (CCT) is one of the core departments at the National Institute of Transport. This department is responsible for offering academic programs, conducting research, and providing ICT related consultancies within and outside the institute. The department is also responsible for planning, organizing and conducting information and communications technology-related modules that are taught within the department’s programs as well as to different programmes offered by other departments.
The department is dedicated to nurturing an environment that encourages innovation, critical thinking, and excellence in the computing and communication technology field. Through our diverse programmes and research initiatives, we aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in today's dynamic world.
The Department is privileged with lecturers who are skilled and highly committed to their job. Our students are exposed to a wide range of theoretical and practical perspectives through core, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities making them one of the best graduates joining the Labour market for both paid and self-employment opportunities. Our students benefit from high-quality facilities, including a well-equipped library and state-of-the-art computer laboratories. Additionally, students attend two Industrial Practical Training sessions, which provide them with valuable hands-on experience in the industry.
Our graduates have potential to excel and flourish in different career paths including; Business Intelligence Analysts, Cloud Solutions Architects, Cybersecurity Analysts/Consultants, Data Scientists/Analysts, Database Administrators, System Administrators, and Web Developers. Others are IT Consultants, IT Project Managers, Network Administrators/Engineers, Software Developers/Engineers, Systems Analysts, ICT Technical Support Specialists, Librarians, Records and Archives Managers/Officers.
