    4TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TRANSPORT, LOGISTICS, AND MANAGEMENT

    MLIMANI CITY CONFERENCE CENTRE

    The International Conference on Transport, Logistics, and Management (ICTLM) is organized by the National Institute of Transport (NIT), a leading higher learning institution established by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. NIT is dedicated to providing specific training, conducting impactful research, and offering consultancy services across all modes of transport. Through its mission, the Institute actively fosters knowledge creation, innovation, and professional excellence within the transport and logistics sector.


    As part of its strategic commitment to enhancing research dissemination and academic visibility, NIT hosts the ICTLM, a flagship platform that connects academia, industry, and policymakers. This annual conference sees strong participation from both local and international stakeholders.


    ICTLM serves as a significant platform for presenting cutting-edge research, sharing practical experiences, and exploring innovative solutions in transport, logistics, and supply chain management. It promotes meaningful collaboration among key stakeholders, including government institutions, academia, industry, and development partners. By encouraging dialogue and partnerships, the conference strengthens evidence-based policymaking, enhances capacity building, and supports the adoption of best practices, ultimately contributing to more integrated, efficient, and sustainable transport and logistics systems.

    The 4th ICTLM 2026 will be held on 20th- 21st August 2026 at the Mlimani City Conference Centre, Dar es Salaam. The main theme for this event is “Enhancing Efficient Transport Systems and Logistics for Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Development.”

    Sub-Themes

    1.  Logistics and Smart Transport Systems

    Covers logistics and supply chain management, transport operations, intelligent transport systems, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications in transport and logistics, real-time traffic management, and cybersecurity in transport networks

    2.  Modernizing Transport Infrastructure for Sustainable Mobility

    Addresses infrastructure planning, design, construction, maintenance and renewal practices, multimodal integration, corridor development, and lifecycle asset management to improve efficiency and resilience.

    3.  Safe, Clean and Affordable Mobility/Transport

    Addresses accident prevention, safety management systems, regulatory compliance, infrastructure safety standards, emergency response, decarbonization, Electric Vehicles, alternative fuels, energy efficiency, climate-resilient infrastructure and affordable mobility.

    4.  Strategic Partnerships for Financing Transport Infrastructure and Operations

    Addresses transport economic analyses, collaborative investment models, risk-sharing frameworks, innovative financing approaches, and performance-based contracting to improve service delivery and infrastructure funding.

    5.  Cross Cutting Issues in Transport and Logistics

    Covers accessibility, rural connectivity, gender-responsive planning, transport governance, and transport’s role in expanding access to jobs and essential services.

National Institute of Transport (NIT) in collaboration with Aerolink Solutions Ltd and in cooperation with the Athens Aviation Training Organization (AATO) has officially launched EASA Program at the National Institute of Transport.

The inauguration ceremony was held at NIT on 7th October, 2025 aiming at nurturing a new generation of highly skilled and internationally certified aircraft maintenance engineers.

The inauguration was officiated by Director General of Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) Mr. Salim Msangi as the guest of honor for the event. In his address during the launching ceremony Mr. Msangi congratulated the Institute for the remarkable achievement. He further stressed that NIT should continuously strive to have qualified instructors and state of art training facilities inorder to realize it's desired vision of becoming world class hub for aviation training.

On his side the NIT Resctor Eng.Dr.Prosper Mgaya thanked the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania under the leadership of the President Hon.Dr.Samia Suluhu Hassan for enabling NIT to reach the milestone.
"We are grateful to the Government for the tremendous support we have received, without their support we could not be able to attain this important achievement”.
