Welcome to the Faculty of Aviation Technology (FoAT). The faculty recognizes that aviation engineering and operations professionals are fundamental to the social economic development encompassing the growth and development of the tourism industry. Based on that, FoAT is highly committed to providing high-quality education and training, research, consultancy, innovations and services in the aviation sector and other related fields worldwide. Above and beyond, FoAT is underway to establish new programmes to cover gaps in aviation management personnel in the region and globally. Moreover, a generous increase in outreach programs is sustained to develop interminable connections with our stakeholders for amongst other the continuous updates in technological changes.
The main objective of the faculty is, therefore, to oversee the development and review of all academic programs to ensure the efficient provision of quality education in Aviation academic programs. The faculty was established to offer aviation training to alleviate the serious shortage of aviation experts which overwhelms the air transport sector in the country and globally. The faculty creates an intellectual forum for various disciplines of aircraft maintenance engineering, flying for pilots and cabin crew, flight operations, airport operations, ground handling, air transport management, and travel & tourism services. FoAT is privileged with lecturers who are experienced and highly committed to their job and our students are exposed to a wide range of theoretical and practical perspectives through core, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.
Our students benefit from high-quality and state-of-the-art facilities, including simulators, a well-equipped library and computer laboratories. This makes FoAT one of the best learning places in Tanzania, Africa and the world at large, where students are guaranteed to graduate with the knowledge, competence and skills demanded by the current labour market in the aviation sector. It is therefore my pleasure to welcome all precious guests and students to the Faculty of Aviation Technology.
