Welcome to the Faculty of Maritime and Petroleum Technology (FoMPT). The main objective of the faculty is to oversee the development and review of all academic programmes to ensure the efficient provision of quality education in maritime, oil and gas-related academic programmes to ensure the sustained growth and development of the industry. At our faculty, we are dedicated to nurturing an environment that encourages innovation, critical thinking, and excellence in maritime, oil and gas sector sub-sectors. Through our diverse programmes, research and consultancy initiatives, we aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in today's dynamic world. The faculty is privileged with lecturers who are highly committed to their job, our students are exposed to a wide range of theoretical and practical training through core, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.
They benefit from high-quality facilities as per Maritime and Petroleum Technology training, including well-equipped workshops, seashore facilities, library and computer laboratories. Additionally, students attend two Industrial Practical Training sessions, which provide them with valuable hands-on experience in the industry. This makes our faculty one of the learning places in Tanzania and Africa where students are guaranteed to graduate with the knowledge, competence and skills demanded by the maritime and petroleum technology labour market.
