NIT GRADUATE EXIT PROGRAMME

May 13, 2025, 11:41 a.m.

National Institute of Transport (NIT) conducted a graduate exit programme at the NIT Mabibo Campus. This programme, among other things, is designed to better prepare graduates for the employment market.
Speaking at the inauguration of the programme, the Acting Deputy Rector for Academic Research and Consultancy, Dr. Eva Luhwavi, stated that today is indeed another significant occasion in your academic careers, during which the Institute is equipping you to more effectively navigate the job market. This event elicits a range of emotions in graduating students: delight in expectation of embarking upon a new chapter in their lives and, for others, pleasure and satisfaction with their accomplishments.
"And we, as the Institute, also take pride in your achievements. Concurrently, we bear the responsibility of working tirelessly and continuing to enhance the quality of our training and to develop contemporary teaching and research methods," Dr. Luhwavi added. "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who will graduate in this academic year of 2024/2025. You have undertaken a considerable journey here at the NIT, with some of you having spent four years and others three. I sincerely request that the time you have invested at the Institute has not been in vain, so that you may proceed to contribute effectively wherever you may go.
"We are all aware that human resources constitute one of the most crucial foundations in establishing a modern and efficient society. Therefore, I would advise all of you who are graduating to utilise the knowledge you have acquired, each within your respective discipline, to foster the development of our nation."
Dr. Luhwavi Concluded, I would implore employers and parents to give these graduates opportunities so that they may demonstrate their proficiency. There is a tendency to favour the recruitment of young individuals with prior experience. I assure you that our young people have undergone practical training, and thus, despite their potential lack of experience in a professional environment, they possess the skills necessary to apply in the roles they will secure. Indeed, I believe in their capabilities"
