The National Institute of Transport (NIT), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Organization for Technical Enhancement and Industrial Development (OTIDE), marked a significant milestone on 30th April 2026, as the first batch of students in its Japanese short course completed their training, with the ceremony held at the NIT Mabibo Campus.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, NIT Rector Dr. Prosper Mgaya congratulated the students for their dedication and hard work. He encouraged them to continue strengthening their Japanese language skills and to apply them effectively in their future careers. He also noted the institute’s continued progress in aviation training, proudly highlighting that some graduates are already employed by airline companies as cabin crew. This course will also be a great advantage for aspiring cabin crew, as it equips them with the skills to interact confidently with diverse people, which is essential when applying and advancing in their future careers in aviation.
“We are immensely proud of this milestone you have achieved,” he said. “It reflects not only your academic success, but also your resilience, discipline, and unwavering commitment to personal growth.”
Representing OTIDE, Mr. Godwin Mbaga emphasized the importance of discipline and consistent practice in mastering a new language. He noted that strong language proficiency can create wide-ranging career opportunities for students.
“On her part, Ms. Minako Yamamoto, Senior Representative of JICA, commended the graduates for their commitment and resilience. She underscored the growing partnership between Japan and Tanzania and encouraged them to continue improving their Japanese language skills in order to maximize future opportunities.”
“Completing this course was not easy, especially with your busy schedules,” she said. “I am impressed that you were able to finish. It is not only what you achieve that matters, but how you achieve please stay committed.”
